Description: This report looks at the complete purchasing history of voice processing systems by small & medium sized American businesses from 1990 to
2000, and includes extensive forecasts based on historical data and the purchasing plans of a sample of more than 300 small and medium-sized
businesses. The report presents data separately for interactive voice response systems and for overall voice processing systems, giving detailed data on %
of companies with systems, date of purchase, amount paid, purchase or re-purchase plans, feature preferences and other factors. The intent of the report
is to enable marketers of voice processing systems to segment the market by industry, geographic region, telecom technology usage characteristic or other
factor that indicates a higher than average propensity to invest in voice processing systems. The report focuses strongly on telecom/computer integration,
as it pertains to the voice processing industry, and voice processing/web/cellular integration.
In our survey, we asked telecom managers to rank their interest in product features such as joint email/voice mail boxes, the reception of voice message on
pagers or cell phones, voice command to send faxes, and voice communication at web sites. The report presents detailed quantitative ranking data on the
usefulness of these and other voice product features.
